TA K I NG S H A P E His first work, an ornate belt buckle decorated with an intricate relief of Adam and Eve, was created in 1899, but silversmith Georg Jensen began his career as a ceramicist and sculptor following a stint working alongside his father, a knife grinder. Later, after starting his eponymous brand, Jensen turned his hand to homewares. His artistic background, love of

nature and Copenhagen’s architecture, shaped his work and a clean, sculptural theme runs through all of his pieces. Jensen also nurtured artistic talent in others, which led to creative collaborations that pushed boundaries to reimagine what design could do. As for Jensen's own elegant creations, they look as stylish now as they did the day they were designed.
